i don't really watch hockey but yesterday they played a game outside on ice and snow.... seemed like a good time dunno.gif wtg.gif

i liked how they did the free throws at the end...each team got three tries and the one who made the most won wtg.gif

It is called a shootout.

They introduced it from soccer to get the fans more into the game. I think it helped. They used to just play until someone scored and it was boring as hell. In 2003 Ducks and Stars went to 4 OT periods. The record was 6.

i have some respect for hockiers for sure wtg.gif a few years ago i took the notion to take my son ice skating and promptly after putting on those bladed shoes i fell and broke my nose 00000024.gif he said "that was cool dad can you do that again?" LOLFloor.gif

they had a local pizza shop owner open up and make pizza's because the players were starving to death. the fans had eaten all the food in the arena, and they had nothing to give the payers. smalllaugh.gif
pretty cool. i was glad i witnessed that game.
