i told you that was gonna happen. all the harvick haters and the martin fans are gonna say they should have thrown the yellow. if it was the other way around, they all would have said let'em race. dunno.gif

i'm a harvick fan, and either way, i would have said let'em race. because the crash had no impact on the finish.

this has nothing to do with the thread, but i was driving by Daytona during the race and listening to it on the radio as we passed. we were headed back from Miami visiting family. listening is different that watching, because you have to pay attention to everything that is being said. so i need to know a few things, like what is dirty air, and clean air. i know about drafting, but who decides who draft what team mate and when.

I do plan on taking my son to the race here in Atlanta, with ear plugs because i assume it is going to be LOUD.

you don't need earplugs. you need a scanner, or better yet, a fan-view.

clean air is when there's no one in front of them. dirty air is when they're beind someone picking up all their crap.
when they draft, they'll choose a car that has more momentum, or a line that's running a little faster, or a teammate, or someone they've run with in the past that they trust. this ALL goes out the window on the last lap though. smalllaugh.gif
blade
draft isn't as huge a factor at atlanta as daytona. atlanta (like texas) makes for some great finishes wtg.gif you love going to watch it nauti wtg.gif

but yeah...like shag mentioned, get the nextel fan-view scanner. frickin' awesome wtg.gif
Nauti
so i am guessing that the air gets dirtier the farther back you are. that is what a driver on the radio was talking about.

not really. maybe on the first couple laps. but after that, dirty air is anytime you're behind someone.
